Running can seem a straightforward action, but the key to enhancing your performance may lie with some serious high end technology.
Using three-dimensional motion analysis, Run3D measures your biomechanics while you run in order to identify areas of weakness or unusual movement in your gait. During a session at its Oxford University laboratory, runners have reflective markers attached to their lower body, which are then recorded by infrared cameras at 200 frames per second. This is then turned into data which a physiotherapist can use to advise you on amendments to your running style and exercises that will alleviate any problems and avoid future injury.
