Musicians

Run3D Conference 2024

We are excited to feature live performances by two sets of incredibly talented musicians, all of whom are students at the University of Oxford. To set the tone for the evening, Cosmo will kick things off with a jazz piano performance during the reception drinks, which will take place from 6:15 to 7:30 pm in the café area. Cosmo’s smooth, sophisticated jazz will provide the perfect backdrop for mingling and conversation as you enjoy your drinks.

Following the reception, Amy and Mar will elevate the atmosphere during dinner with a beautiful violin and piano duet. Their performance will blend classical and contemporary pieces, creating a refined and elegant dining experience. Both Amy and Mar have extensive musical backgrounds, and we are delighted to have them share their talents with us.

Amy Moynihan and
Mar Unbert Kimura

Amy is a 5th year medical student at Somerville College, University of Oxford. She received a First Class degree in Medical Sciences in 2023, and was awarded a scholarship for achieving a distinction in the Bachelor of Medicine part II exams in 2022. She is now enjoying her 2nd year of clinical school, where she takes particular interest in surgery and emergency medicine. Alongside her studies she is a keen musician, having studied violin, viola and piano at the Royal Birmingham Junior Conservatoire from 2014-2020. Throughout her time at Oxford she has lead the Oxford University Orchestra, Oxford University Sinfonietta, Orchestra VOX, and the St Anne's Camerata, and has enjoyed orchestra tours around Northern Italy and Portugal. She has combined her love of music and medicine through the role of musical director of the Tingewick 2024 medical society, which organises fundraising events (and a pantomime!) for Oxford University Hospitals Charity and Restore Charity.

Mar is a Spanish-Japanese pianist who recently completed with distinction her MSt in Music Performance at Somerville College (University of Oxford), where she also read Music as an undergraduate. Mar is particularly passionate about piano accompaniment and chamber music and is in demand in Oxford as a collaborative pianist. She regularly performs with leading ensembles such as the Oxford University Orchestra, Oxford University Sinfonietta, orchestra VOX, Somerville College Choir, and Komuna Collective. As an accompanist, Mar has worked with professional musicians including Emma Kirkby, Anthony Roth Constanzo, and Will Dawes as well as with numerous university and conservatoire students. As a student, Mar was awarded the Margaret Irene Seymour Music Award as an undergraduate, as well as a substantial music scholarship for her master’s degree. She now pursues her piano studies with Anna Markland.
